Description: Argues for a 'third wave' of economic development, working on holistic community building strategies in order to sustain a community's economic health. It lists fourteen principles, and chapters provide recommendations and case studies for each.
Assessment: The principles are noble but a little too general. As a whole they provide a new, different, distinct emphasis compared to similar sets of principles found in other New Urbanist and Smart Growth-related documents.
